ireland is coming to an end we leave on tuesday morning. so officially one day left here in this country. tonight was a night of goodbyes. ha coming to realize that the world race is filled with tons of goodbyes everytime we get to a comfortable place we get to say bye to it. to the people and the place. time to move on. Romania here we come. I’m very excited to say my team is pairing up with team FUEL which consists of HOPE, EMILY, MEL, GEOFF, COLIN, MICHELLE, & MARISSA! I think we will have an awesome time. As for everyone else on j i will seriously miss you but the awakening is soon coming. The end of september there is going to be a conference for world race alums and current racers the january team, june team, and us will all be meeting up for 4 days in romania to fellowship and see eachother and share in our experenices. I’m pretty excited about this. Oh and another thing GUESS WHAT! this next month we will be staying in a host home! how pumped and I? ready to be out of a tent and in the comfort of walls thats for sure. I’m not sure exactly what we’ll be doing so thats fun. ha. I cant recall the name of the city we will be in either….its outside of Bucharest thats about the extent of my knowledge. oh i forgot i do know that it is going to be nice high 80s out everyday instead of this rain, wind, and 40-50 degree weather.
so here are some updates of this month. we were working with abundant life church in galway, ireland. we have been just going out on the streets meeting people and getting them interested in the church and just getting conversations about beliefs out there in the open. it’s been a good month. i want to share a poem a man in the church wrote and gave to our team.
With all my heart I thank you, Lord,
For knocking on my city’s door.
This door I talk of is not seen–
Your plan for it is to be clean,
To love, to give, to care for all,
It was this way before the fall.
I stand amazed on this day
As I have seen Your awesome way.
Your hand at work in my city’s centre,
Your faithful team to it did enter.
The names of whom I’ll not reveal–
Their heavenly reward I dare not steal.
They shared, the sang, they smiled, they told
Many a story while standing bold.
Some people passed, some people stayed,
Some people cried, some people prayed.
Some lashed out, and some were hurting–
Fertile soil was there, I’m certain.
This door I talk of is the heart–
The love of God they did impart.
The price You paid to set us free
Will forever be told, in my city.
