As I start to really prepare for this journey around the world, I have been getting a lot of questions so I am here to answer them…
1) Why the World Race?
Well, I have been dreaming of traveling the world for most of my life and I have a huge heart for helping people and mission work so when I came across this opportunity to do both, I was so happy. I prayed and asked God hat I should do and he told me to go!
2) What are your expectations for this trip?
This is a hard question for me. I am trying to go into this with an open mind and an open heart to the best of my abilities. I do expect to see things that will make me cry tears of joy as well as sorrow. I expect to bond with my squad in ways no one can understand, and I most expect God to work in ways I never knew were possible. My goal is simple, I want to travel and I want to spread the love of God in new and amazing ways.
3) How is fundraising going?
Another tough one……fundraising is hard. Hearing no over and over is hard…..and trusting God is hard. I know that this trip and the dollar amount next to it, is in His hands but I always want to be in charge.
This past weekend when I was at prison ministry, we talked about things that keep us away from receiving God in every way. My struggle is being in control. I am not in control of fundraising, He is so all this stress and gray hair I am giving to him!
