Dear Family and Friends,
I have been accepted to the World Race for July 2014. What is the World Race? Not the Amazing Race… well think of it as the Amazing Race plus God. It is an 11-month 11-country mission trip. Starting in July of 2014, I will be spending one month in each country, living out of a backpack and loving on people. I am so excited about this opportunity. The ministries in each country will vary as we team up with churches and ministries already there: some will be teaching, working in orphanages and clinics, others might including feeding stations, or manual labor, but mostly and more importantly we love on people where they are at and share Christ’s love with them.
I have to raise funds for this mission about $20,000 total. This amount will cover my travel, lodging, food and incidentals. I am so excited to be a part of the World Race team.
I am sending you this letter to ask for your help. There are several things that you can do to help me with my trip. This is an amazing opportunity and it has all happened very quickly. I am so thankful that God has given me this awesome opportunity. I know He will provide for my every need. I am asking that you would consider partnering with me in a couple of ways.
1. Pray –I know with Christ all things are possible. Prayer is vital to my trip. I ask that you pray with me. Pray for my team, the countries and people we will be visiting, and please pray for me. I know that I am called to this year. I know it will be amazing but I also know it will be a very tough year.
2. Financial Support – It would be awesome if this trip did not financially cost a thing but that is not the case. The cost is $15,500. This covers our travel expenses, training, food, and other things vital to our time in the field. I’m asking that you would consider supporting me financially. Whether with a one-time gift or a monthly gift. If 50 people pledge $30 a month for 10 months or 30 people give $50 a month for 10 months, I would have a 100% of the funds needed for my trip. Please do not feel constrained by these examples. They are to show how easy it is to give and how quickly you can help me reach my goal.
3. I need an additional $4,500 for insurance, travel to the launch sites, and incidentals. I have a list of items that I need as well.
