It all started on a Sunday afternoon wifi hunt.
I had been lent "The Vow' ebook and wanted to download it to my Nook so I could start reading it.
I asked around if any knew of a wifi cafe until one of the youth girls piped up and said she had wifi…
at her house.
Perfect! I exclaimed and Ai Mee began leading Angela and I to her house.
Upon arriving, we were showered with chips, cookies, and cold iced tea.
After talking about "The Vow" and other chick flicks while eating sweets, the idea was born…
A girls movie night with the youth girls from church!

They had a projector and screen, we had chick flicks, and snacks were certainly in the budget!
Over the course of the week, we worked out the details and invited all the girls over that friday night!
I am not usually the type to get overly excited about girls nights.
It always seems like guys night are more fun.
They go on adventures and other cool things; girls nights always seem lame in comparison.
But something was different this time.
I had grown attached to the youth girls, and spending the evening with them really sounded fun.
Watching a chick flick sounded fun.
It sounded normal, like something I would do with my friends back home not under the 'girls night' label.
So my excitement began to build for friday night!
The girls all arrived and the night was perfect.
We chatted, snacked, and watched a chick flick.
We even all squealed when Jenna and Matty finally kissed in 13 going on 30.

I couldn't have had a more enjoyable time!
I think I found my heart for ministry.
This simple night was my favorite throughout my entire stay in the Philippines.
There is just something about spending life with other girls.
Something about quality time and common ground.
Something about girls being girls and doing girly things
It just good 🙂

I can't wait to have another girls night and see how the Lord uses this passion in my life.
