This is going to be a long post, but please read all the way to the bottom. 🙂

The past weekend I graduated from college. I am no longer a student.  No more student discounts or free football tickets. I am now a young working professional.

I never thought this day would come, but it has come so quickly and already passed me by!  The tassel was moved from right to left, received my (temporary) diploma, and the graduation announcements (finally) went out. It is just crazy how time flies.  My parents used to always say that, and know I am finally beginning to understand. Funny how that works 🙂

Now its time to move onto the next chapter in my life.  The World Race.  It still hasn't set in.  I still can't believe I am leaving to go around the world.  I just simply cannot believe it. The blessing are just pouring out every which way.  I have been stressing about raising funds and getting all my supplies gathered, thinking is this really all going to come together?!?! But over this past weekend, God really showed me that he is a provider and I have a truly blessed life.  This weekend I was blessed in so many ways and learned a few things in the process:

  1. My family LOVES me.
  2. I have a family that goes to incredible lengths to make sure I feel celebrated and loved.  From staying up late to decorate my cap, to waking up early when they were already exhausted, just to make sure they had good seats at graduation, to planning a party in a day and pulling it off, to loving my friends just because I love them, my family was and is so good to me!
  3. My parents have AMAZING friends that made it possible for both my brother and mom to celebrate my graduation.
  4. I have INCREDIBLE friends. Friends that show up at 7:30am the day of my graduation because they don't want to be late or miss a thing. Friends that help my family scope out the best seat in the entire arena. Friends that give me the play by play of graduation when my eyes aren't good enough to see myself. Friends that pick up cupcakes just to help with my party. Friends that leave their house at a moments notice because my family needs help with the party.  Friends that may or may not hold back on hanging pictures of the "awkward" years. Friends that play football with my brother to make sure he is enjoying himself too. Friends that stay long after the party is over to help clean up. So amazing.
  5. I am blessed beyond belief.

In the midst of all the celebration, God still showed me, that he is a provider. One of my dear friends got me a backpack for graduation.  Now any other college student might have not been so grateful, thinking, are you kidding me, I am done with school, NO MORE BACKPACKS. But this backpack was special.  This was a hiking backpack, the kind of backpack I need for The World Race. The one thing that will carry my entire life for the next year.  This was the item I have been worried about the most as it is the most essential item for the race and a spendy one at that. But there it was, a gift as a celebration of the end of one chapter opening up to the beginning of the next. He provides.  Sometimes through dear friends, sometimes anonymously, sometimes in mysterious ways.

And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:19

He provides and I am so thankful.

What a blessed life I have.  Thanks to everyone who helped me to this point and to everyone who is going to make The World Race a reality.
