~Hey Everyone!~
I am Brittany Buttram, and I'm from Anaheim, CA (home of Disneyland!)
I am working on my BA in Global Cultures to be an English teacher abroad. I'm a cashier
at the most INCREDIBLE Christian bookstore called The Bible House!
My journey to the World Race began in 3rd grade in a Geography class that was taught by a former missionary. After hearing all of her awesome stories an overwhelming desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus began to grow in my heart.
This desire to reach out to the least of these has led me from the barrios of Tijuana, to the rural village of Tazlina, Alaska, to the leper colony/trash dump of Korah, Ethiopia.
After these experiences, I have been ruined for the typical American Dream lifestyle of getting a good education just to sit in a cubicle 9-5 job, for the end goal of having a comfortable retirement.There is so much more to life than that.
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 28:19)
Some fun facts about me:
- I'm turning 21 a month before launch
- I'm Number 4 of of 7 kids
- I have an irrational phobia of moths
- Love kpop and the Korean language
- I LOVE Geography and would rather study an atlas than watch TV
- I love baking and making cakes
- Karaoke is one of my favorite pastimes
- I love to clean, especially washing dishes
I CANNOT WAIT for the for all of the opportunities that we will have for caring for orphans and widows, being the hands and feet of Jesus, fighting human trafficking, serving youth, working with those effected with AIDS and HIV, feeding the hungry, and bringing hope to the hopeless.
God is going to do a mighty work in these 11 months to come~!
