Well it´s official…I´m in love!
The children in Aguilar are beautiful! They are warm, friendly, full of joy and adventure! They play throughout the day, take every advantage of every situation. They love hugs, laughing, running, playing, football (soccer), and just being with one another! The kids in Aguilar are so loving and responsible. They watch out for the younger ones and for one another! Some say not to have favorites…and in outwardly actions, I agree. We should love all these children the same…but one boy in Aguilar has stolen my heart!
He was one of the first boys I met in Aguilar!
I want you to meet Edeoso…he goes by Edeo.
Edeo has the best smile! Everyday I head to his house around 12:30 to set off to pic up the other kids (he knows where everyone lives and if they are going with us each day). I had been wearing a bandana type thing on my head…and one day he runs out of his house wearing a bandana the same way I did. He signs to me and speaks in spanish… ´
look…i have a bandana the same as yours´. Edeo is a leader! He is a good brother and son! I look forward to his smiles everyday! He has definately found a spot in my heart!
There are a ton of other kids that I love also…There are a group of boys we have come to call …the Lost Boys! They are so fun! We hang out with them every afternoon. They have taken us to all the ´secret´places in Aguilar…The hidden paths…the best places to swim in the Rio…The mountains to climb…the far off water ways throughout the city! Discovering Aguilar with these boys is way better than any tour guide!
