Hey everyone! I made it back to town! Today is our free day! We are spending the rest of our time in Aguilar! An amazing little town in Chiapas. We are going house to house in the mornings…playing with kids in the afternoons…and then kids service everynight at 5 and an adult service at 6. It is soooo beautiful here! We have been here for about a week. The town is surrounded by mountains – they are truly breathtaking and the beauty is hard to capture in a picture! I wanted to take some video and upload it (but my stupid camera broke).
Either way …here are a few shots of Aguilar!
Walking on the main street in Aguilar (Ryan´s Pic)

The girls on my team after climing a mountin one morning.
playing duck duck goose in Aguilar (it´s called pota pota gonzo here) (Ryan´s Pic)
The house we are staying at in Aguliar…I´m staying in a tent with Annie inside the house due to a scare from a massive poisonouse spider encounter our first night. The locals saw a pic of it and said it could kill you! Yeah for Tents!!!! 🙂
The school in Aguilar…we are picking up kids to head to the el rio…(River)
Something i´ve grown to hate here in Aguilar are the chickens..well really only in the morning (or the hours from 2 am to about 7 am). They are so stinking loud! They cok a doodle do all night/morning long. Thank the Lord for my ipod and ear plugs! A few nights ago I woke up my teamate Annie while i yelled the phrase ¨Dear Lord!¨ because they were so loud and seemed to all be going at the same time. Something funny about the chickens… they come the kichen of the house we are staying at. They start making a loud noise and then lay an egg in the corner and walk back out…
These nasty things are everywhere!!!! 🙂
Walking to the El Rio (river) with the kids. We do this about everyday!
This is Padro. He is 11. We are staying in his house. This is our kitchen stove and Padro is cutting up a chicken for the team that is with us.
There is a little view of where I am and what i´m doing…Words can´t express the beauty here or the generosity of the people! We are getting tortillas about twice a day! We can´t even get close to eating them all! We tried to fry a few and make chips…trying to be creative! We´ve been welcomed into houses, schools, all over! This town is overflowing with love for the Americans! Although the kids are covinced that I am not a gringo!…just a mexicano from America! 🙂 They say my skin is too dark and my hair is too dark for me to be a gringo! 🙂
