A couple of weeks ago, I packed up and flew to Atlanta, GA where I spent a week at Training Camp for the World Race. In the span of 7 days, I had the privilege of getting to know the rest of my amazing Y-squad… I also got a taste of what the actual Race will be like, experienced the Lord in ways I’ve only dreamed of, found out the wonderful team of seven that I will be doing ministry with for next year, and had my entire world flipped upside down as the Lord spoke truth, love, discilpine, and purpose over my life. In just two months I will be heading to Atlanta once more, where I will reunite with my Y-Squad  and we will head off to Puerto Rico for month 1 of our 11 month journey!

My amazing team for the year! Raf, Sabrina, Lizzy, Isaiah, Laura and Lesa 🙂

Here are just a few things I learned at training camp…

*I need to completely re-think my packing list 😉 Less is more, people… less is more.

*Each day that the Lord keeps us on this earth (whether it be today, tomorrow, five months into the World Race, or 8 years afterward) is one more day He has given us to learn how to be more like His Son, and is another opportunity for Him to use us to further His Kingdom.

*”Staying present” is one of my greatest challenges

*Surrender your “rights” and just TRUST the Lord. Surrender paves the way for intimacy with Him.

*My reading list has grown by at least 100 books

*Living intentionally is so so so so so important.

*God does not call the qualified… But it is HE that qualifies the called.

*If we want more of God, we must PURSUE Him!

*I am IN LOVE with my squad, our coaches, our trainers, and our leaders. Like seriously, you guys are the best.

My beautiful Y-Squad getting pumped for Squad Wars!

*The plans He has for me are ALWAYS better than the ones I have thought up for myself.

*Timing is everything. More often than not, our idea of time does not match up with His.. simply because we only see what is right in front of us, and He sees the entire picture. And I am SO thankful that He does.

A night by the fire with some of my lovely squadmates!

*Headlamps are absolutely one of the coolest and most useful inventions ever.

*Crazy things happen when you take the time to LISTEN in prayer, and when you make yourself AVAILABLE for Him to use you.

*Everyone’s walk with Christ looks different!

*If we are ambassadors for Christ, then we need to be constantly asking the King what is on His agenda– and we MUST let go of OUR agenda. We cannot have what He has for us until we let go of what we are holding onto for ourselves.

*And finally, this prayer:”Lord, do anything you need to do IN me so that you might do everything you want to do THROUGH me.

Training camp was an amazing experience… and I loved every minute of it. Thank you so much for all of you who were praying for me and for my squad during that week… It means the world to me to have people like you supporting me. You know who you are!! Love you all SO SO SO much!!
