This month we have been living in Kampong Speu in a tiny house with another team.  Kampong Speu is a small village about an hour outside of Phnom Penh.

This is our little house.  Please observe our clothes hanging on the fence and the tent in the front yard.  We don't have power about 50% of the time and it's hot as frick 100% of the time.

Cambodia has some of the best sunsets I've seen on the Race.  In fact, in my experience, i'm certain that Asia has the best skies in the world.

We spend a lot of our time with the kids around town.  We teach English lessons during the day and Bible study at night.  We also play soccer with the kids in the morning…well, i don't play soccer.  I usually hang out with the schoolgirls who don't play either.

This is my favorite little boy who hangs around our house.  I'm kind of surprised that he's wearing pants here – he normally doesn't.

He was not wearing pants in this one.

Babies sleep in hammocks in Cambodia.

It's been a pretty bush month for us, location-wise, which has been kind of challenging.  Lots of bugs, cold bucket showers with rainwater and lots of interesting food.  But the company has been amazing.  I'm on a new team this month

and I'm not a team leader anymore.  Which is awesome, to tell the truth.  i was exhausted after leading for three months in Africa and I was ready to be put under male leadership again.  One reason I came on the Race was to learn to live in community, especially building healthy relationships with men that will benefit my future marriage.  The other team we're paired with this month has two of my favorite men on it, Kyle and Jake, who were on my first team.

Kyle and Jake with our cute little neighbor girl (she's got them wrapped around her little finger).

So I've been able to spend some great time with them and this month has been an incredible time of getting some awesome feedback and encouraging words from men.  I don't consider myself someone who, as a woman, has struggled with needing constant affirmation from men, but at times I worry I might be too independent when it comes to relationships.  So having some great Christian brothers on the squad who can give some insight to my attitude and interactions with them has been awesome.
This week we'll say goodbye to Cambodia and head into Vietnam to start month 10 of the Race.  Crazy!  Japan is still on my mind (read more about that here) –  please pray that doors will open and money will come in.
