So there I was, just texting my Dad after he sent me a picture of a fish he caught, and then he dropped this truth bomb on me- exactly what I’ve been needing to hear lately.
“It was kind of spur of the moment. Life’s like that, if you don’t respond, you miss out on a lot of joy! Respond!”
In the middle of preparing for the future (particularly the World Race) and slowly adjusting to the idea of graduating from Baylor, I have been feeling somewhat distant from my Savior as I wrestle through these various emotions. Fear, worry, and lack of mindfulness are just a few of the things that creep in to steal my joy, but I don’t want to miss all the joy God still has for me right here. There are those who need to see and feel the Lord’s presence through you & (solely by the grace of God) through me, and that’s why it’s so important for us to be fully present right here & right now.
Let’s respond to the need of our family, of our friends, and even to the sacred space of listening to the needs of a stranger. We are made to be present and ready to follow wherever the Spirit leads.
Let’s respond! There is great joy to be claimed, both today and, because of the beautiful death and resurrection of Jesus, for all of eternity!
