Grandma is still alive!! We were all in shock!! We had thought she was dead and this was the funeral before they buried her!! Not in Cambodia!!! All of her family and friends gathered around her bed to be with her. There were candles all around, incense everywhere, Buddhist men chanting next to her. It was a very surreal thing. She was dressed in her very best with all of her best belongings placed on her chest. In Buddhism they believe that when you die, you get buried with all of your money and prized possessions so it may carry over to your next life to get you a higher ranking in life and be rich. So there she was, ALIVE and gasping for breath. I had never been in this type of situation before…. We all were saying prayers for her, praying that she was not listening to these men chanting Buddhist chants next to her and that the Lord has her in His hands and all she is thinking about is Him and that she is going to be with Him very soon.

That’s one thing I was really thinking about, that was going to be with GOD right NOW!!! If she fully accepted the Lord then this is it!! Right now, she is going to meet Him!! The Lord of Lords!! The King of Kings!! Right now, that’s amazing!!! That to me is so much better than having her suffer here on Earth when she can’t move or eat anything.

So I decide to sit down in front of her and place my hand on her foot and pray for her. Everything lasted for about an hour.

Her breaths became farther and farther apart .

I couldn’t believe that I was watching with my own eyes this woman die.

That was when she took her last breath of air on this Earth and passed away.

I was speechless……

I knew it was coming, but I didn’t know how I would feel when it happened. A woman I didn’t even know just passed away while I watched and was holding her foot. I didn’t even know her, but I loved her so much!! She was my sister in Christ, God made her exactly as she was, He knew that I would be there for that moment, He put us in each others lives!!! I know that I will see Gram Cam again one day and we can talk more about her life and her journey with God.
