This is it!!! I have left good old Cape Cod for the last time!!! I got on my one way flight from Boston to LA. The World Race hasn't 'officially' started yet, but I'm on my way!! We as a squad have to meet up at LAX airport to all fly to Guatemala, so…myself and a few other racers decided to go to California a few days earlier to explore because we had never been there before, and WHY NOT!!! So we all crammed into 2 hotel rooms and had a blast!! Here is what we did….
On the first day we all got in at different times, so we all met up at the hotel and hung out with each other, got dinner and just were goofy for the night. Boring to most, but really fun for us!!
The next day we woke up early and (are you sitting) WE WENT TO DEAL OR NO DEAL!!!! If you don't know what it is #1 you loose cool points and #2 it's a revised game show hosted by Wayne Brady. I watch it everyday at work with Jill and it has been a dream of mine to be on it. So that was really cool to be there and watch how it all happed. None of us got picked or won a million dollars, but we had a BLAST!!! Defiantly can cross that off my bucket list!!
The next day we went to explore LA!! We went to the walk of fame, Kodak theater, saw the Hollywood sign!! It was so cool!!! That night I met up with my friend Steve who lives in LA. Steve was my team leader for my first Habitat for Humanity trip to Malawi. We then all went out to dinner at in and out burger!! Which was really good!! We met up with a former racer Michelle Smith for dinner as well. Michelle is a huge part of my testimony and was there the day after I accepted Christ!! She has blessed me in so many ways, she even gave me most of my stuff for the race!! Love you Michelle!!
The last day we were in LA we hung out at the airport all day to wait for the rest of the squad to get there. We did what ever we could to stay busy and we had fun doing it!! Anyway, that was a recap of the couple days before we left the country!! It was really good to take a little time with some other racers in America to really get excited together for the race!!
