My World Race Challenge For You!!!!

As you might know, I will be launching on the October 2011 squad of the World Race.  A mission trip traveling to 11 different countries around the world.  I will be spending 1 month in Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi and one more country in Asia where we don’t know yet, but God will lead us to.  I will be working to help build churches, feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, care for the sick and talk to the lonely.  I will be with my squad of about 60, but away from all my close friends and family.  Living out of a 50 lb. backpack and sleeping in a tent for a whole year!!!  Eating minimal and living the simple life.  This is going to be a huge challenge for me both physical and mental.  While I’m away I want to know if you will accept my challenge?  A challenge for yourself to see what you can accomplish and what you can do if you REALLY put your mind and heart to something.  I want to challenge you to put aside $1 a day for the entire time I am gone, and everyday think about (and read in my blogs) where that dollar is going and what it is doing!!!  Think about how little 1 dollar is.  It can’t really get you a lot now a days.  But $1 is a days wages somewhere else in the world.  Think about how much we take advantage of something as little as a dollar.  How you upgrade your fast food meal for a dollar, how you get a large coffee when you could have gotten a medium.  All you have to do is cut out something small out of your day.  Or something you do once a month.  What if you don’t buy THAT one pair of shoes, and think about the millions who don’t have shoes to wear, trust me.  Or not go out to dinner once a month and eat a simple meal at home.  But let’s together see what a dollar a day can REALLY do!!!  Please read my story, see what I’m going to do for the next 11 months, and think about what YOU can do in this world.  I want YOU to be apart of this with me!!!  A big part of The World Race is writing a blog while on the field.  I would LOVE for you to subscribe and read what I’m doing and where your money is going.  You can read everything and support me at briancooke.theworldrace.org.  You may not be a Christian, maybe not believe in God, but I do hope you believe in me and this journey.  I will give it my whole heart and hope you can all be a part of this with me.  Thank you for taking the time to read this, I hope you can find it in your heart to support this amazing cause, I truly appreciate it.

Yours faithfully, Brian Cooke 🙂
