AFRICA! We arrived in Nairobi, Kenya at the beginning of the
month to spend the first week there to debrief the past few months. Then we
headed to Kitale, Kenya to stay with Pastor Geoffrey, his wife Florence (we
call her mama), and their youngest son . We’re just outside of Kitale in the
countryside on a little farm complete with a milking cow for fresh milk and
yoghurt. We’re very much enjoying the slower, quieter pace of life here.

Daily life includes: bucket showers with water that’s warmed over the corn husk
fire outside, delicious food that’s cooked over coal cooking stoves. The
electricity works when it wants to.
Family style meals three times a day, cooked from scratch. Prayer runs
in the mornings. Bible studies and devotions with the family at night. Giving thanks for the little things. Birds chirping
in the morning. Crickets chirping at night. And a beautiful night starry sky. Being extremely flexible going by African time, the sun. We LOVE it.

This past week we have been doing community outreach programs
through Pastor Geoffrey’s Kitale Growth Church. We worked on the flooring of
the sanctuary hauling dirt and prepping it to pour concrete next week. Through
your support we were able to bless the church with concrete for one of the
small classrooms as well. The children here are amazing. They run into your
arms before ever meeting you!

We also went to a nearby prison to share the gospel and
bless them with some soap J.
After our teammate Eric shared his testimony the majority of the inmates that
were there committed their lives to the Lord! Bwana a si fee we! Praise the
Lord!

We have also been helping a sister church that is about one
hour away. They are expanding their building to make classrooms for the kids.
We went out to help dig post holes with machetes J. We’ll be back there
the next two Sunday’s doing worship and giving the sermon.

Kenya is a beautiful country. Beautiful people. Beautiful
weather. Beautiful land. Beautiful pace.
