HELLO BLOG WORLD! Did i mention I’m not very good at this… yeah I’m working on it!

Anyways here’s an update on life overseas so far!

Last month we lived in Manipur, India and worked with Dr.Rochunga and his ministry that has brought the Gospel to over 14 villages! It was amazing to see how one person can bring about so much change in so many places! It was such an honor to work with his ministry and see how far these villages have come over his lifetime. Everyday looked so different and we did anything from VBS, child sponsorship, hospital construction, and health clinics. I have worked on the state-side with organizations that sponsor children but it was so incredible to see the receiving end of this work and the pure joy of these kids who get a blanket for a christmas present and think they’ve hit the lottery!! Which was so humbling by the way, learning to live in that heart of thankfulness is something I want to keep with me forever.
We are now in Kathmandu, Nepal working with at risk women and street kids. We have only been here a short while but the stories are already just blowing my mind and God is showing up in big ways here! I promise to get another blog up soon about the people I meet and what is going on, but for now I’ll share what’s been going on in my life and the hard lessons learned so far!

So obviously we are living in a third-world country and luxury is just not a thing. God has really been working on my heart about living in a healthy community because the past two months our squad of 50 people has been living in the same space. SAME HOUSE PEOPLE. It’s been the most beautifully frustrating mess ever!! I have had to learn what it means to lay down your own needs to serve your brother and sister. We have minimal water, electricity, and gas to cook food. We are each living on $4 a day, which is a lot over here but not by American standards. We are learning how to serve one another and give up certain privileges so that other people can simply take a shower. Which when you have limited amounts of water and that many people under one roof, doesn’t really happen and if you have to choose between a shower or flushing the toilet… yeah this is the life we live!! It’s been so cool to see how the Lord is pushing us so far here. It would be so easy to see all of the things that we don’t have or don’t get access to and feel defeated but that’s not the point. We didn’t sign up for this year to be spoiled and served, we are here to be sent out to the nations. So we are choosing to be positive and thankful for the things that we are given like FLUSHING TOILETS, amazing!! Which when you get the stomach flu in the mountains of India is pretty much the best thing to ever happen to you, trust me! So we are going to continue to push through and see every little thing as a blessing. Cold bucket showers once a week, bring it!! We are taking part in this culture and choosing in on what the Lord is doing through us and when you see poverty in this light it changes you. You learn to not complain about the things you don’t have and step into being grateful for the things we are so blessed with. It’s impossible to look at a starving, homeless child on the streets and go back to your house and complain about not having enough food. It’s funny because I thought that being here would impact this community and it turns out they are changing my life and giving so much more to me than I ever could to them. Life has been filled with lots of humility and learning about how much we just don’t have everything figured out an how these cultures have so much to offer us, not the other way around.

I LOVE YOU ALL!! Thank you for the continuos support and love and for those who are still donating, you have no idea the impact you are making!
