Really.. We all know how awesome our God is.. But I am just totally amazed at how He has provided.
As of today I have $4,185 in my account!!!! On top of that I received enough personal donations to cover the cost of my backpack and tent ($182.90 – way cheaper than I anticipated, praise the Lord!), my meal kit ($21.19), my flight to training camp ($363.80), and my vaccinations ($1,226). I still have $1,146.11 to spend on other equipment that I still desperately needed.
Folks.. That's a total of $7,125!!!!!!! That is totally amazing! God is so great, and so are all of you who have so graciously supported this journey of mine! I truly am so humbled by this whole experience, and there's still so much ahead of me. I cannot wait to see what other BIG things God has planned for me!
On top of all that I need to update y'all on what's been going on the past week! (sorry I haven't updated in awhile.. I promise to do better!)
I cannot even start to tell you the people God has brought into my life the past couple weeks! It's soooo amazing. Just to name a few..
The son of a friend from church is a huge backpacker/outdoorsman. We got in touch, and I cannot even begin to tell you how much of a blessing it has been! Not only is he full of awesome life saving advice, he was able to give me my sleeping pad, bag liner, compression sacks, a basic first aid kit, a brand new flashlight, a headlamp, and an awesome pocket knife. No joke.. He saved me HUNDREDS of dollars. So thank you Jesse 🙂
Also, a woman from one of my bible study classes heard about my trip, and told me how she was on a mission trip in Africa and had a group of World Racers come and work with her. She went on and on about how amazing they were, as well as their work, and the blessings God gave to all involved. I cannot tell you the peace that gave me! I pray that one day someone will say that about me and my awesome T SQUAD 🙂
But I have to say one of the most honoring, humbling, and emotional things happened this Sunday. After church, at our usual family lunch, a dear friend of my mom's stopped by. It was random and no one expected it, but we all love and adore her and thought nothing of it. She joined us for lunch, and after that had us all gather in the living room for what I assumed was to do MORE family pictures. Then she asked me to stand in front of the fire place. She then handed me a sign to hold that said "Mighty Special Angel", and handed me a check for $1,000!!!
But first.. a little bit about Ms Debbie! She is co founder of an organization called the Heil Luthringer Foundation. Debbie and her friend Lisa founded this for people in the Naples Florida area diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (my mother just happening to be one of them). They help get them discounted medical treatment, do support groups, college education for future nurses on how to deal with MS patients, even scholarship programs for children whose parents have MS. Basically she's just amazing!
Debbie and Lisa decided to do another donation program called "Mighty Special Angel", and chose me to be their first recipient. I cannot tell you how amazing that is! I feel so honored, blessed, and down right excited! However, if anyone is the angel it is definitely them!
Those are just a few, but I could go on and on about everyone who is involved with me in this mission. That includes my financial supporters, my awesome prayer warriors lifting me up, as well as all who just continue to encourage me daily! THANK YOU ALL!
Please continue to pray for me as I finish purchasing all my gear, organizing and getting ready for training camp in 10 days!!!! Time is flying by, and as excited as I am, there is still a lot of preparations that need to be done. Thank you again!
Lots of Love,
Bri Legan
