Who am I? Well first of all I am a horrible blogger… So hold on tight as we plow through this  blog attempt. I am the baby of the group (I think) I have been here 20 years now. I go to Southeastern Bible College pursuing a degree in Theology, and a minor in intercultural studies.

I spent two months in Nicaragua with AIM that completely changed my life. I had been a theology student for a couple of semesters when I went to Nica, and thought I had it all figured out, I could write a 20 page exegetical paper on the doctrine of salvation, what else could God throw at me? HA was I wrong…  My ears had heard of you, but now my eyes have seen you Job 42:5.

In poverty, theology isn’t the only thing that matters.. To them, Calvinistic doctrine opposed to renewal, or arminian doctrine really doesn’t change the fact that they need the Gospel, and that wasn’t my expectation.
But the fact that they need the Gospel is not all, they need to be shepherded in truth, truth of the scriptures, and with that truth comes a deeper relation and understanding of who God is. They need to learn of the love of Christ. I grew tremendously during my time in Nicaragua. I was in Nica when the lord called me to the Race, the Lord told me that He had greater plans for me in 2011 and 2012  than I had for myself. After fervent prayer He revealed to me after a lot of confirmation that  the Race is where I am called! It all just came together, living with two AIM staff for two months helps to get the ball rolling, so I was blessed with that.

Too much blabbering

Alright, well I grew up in Alabama, Ive lived in the same house since I was 5 years old. I played baseball along with just about every other sport from a kid through highschool. I have two wonderful sisters, and two loving parents, and two supportive grandparents. What more could a guy ask for? I have the coolest dog, he is a boxer named Gerald (and his name fits him to the T ) He looks at me as more of a tool of scratching his itches as opposed to a companion like most dogs (he is a rebel, and doesn’t give in to socialistic demands of the “normal dog”).
I like anything outdoors, I love the  river, water skiing, bouldering, mountain biking, camping, and my eno hammock which I plan on utilizing a good bit on the race. I have a deep love for Dr. Pepper, and root beer, I like Dr. Pepper more which is the one that is hard to find over seas so that sucks… I love the community aspect of AIM, I love my Nica team and have made relationships that will last through the trials for sure. I can’t wait to grow in community with my new team (don’t worry Fuego de Dios you will always have a part in my heart that can never be shaken).
I think I am done for now.
Keep coming back for more blabbering of my life!
In Him, Brett
