A Bunk Bed …

We delivered a bed recently to a needy family living in a makeshift aluminum shack with some puppies. I don’t care that they were not vaccinated; the puppies were 5 weeks old and I was not about to get out of there without getting my hands on them. Some of them were very thin, and all had some evidence of fleas or other bugs. I held a 5 month old baby who was so small that she looked like she was at least half that age. She slept in a broken, dirty stroller. And there was a 10 year old child that looked about 6.

If people here make $10-$15 a day, they are considered “high class.” The people who go around selling seeds and candy make only $2-$3 per day. They are the poorer class. Average wage or middle class is $7-$8 a day. And the country uses USD.

Sometimes, I don’t know what to say or do. But what I do know is that we have brought more hope to these people, and that makes me happy.

If you are interested in donations for these people, or would like more information, please click here on my teammate Jeff’s post.

Here are some photos of us painting Bible verses on the bed …
