This is my final blog from a foreign country.
It's sobering to think that barely a year ago I left on this incredible journey to serve the nations. I've taught English, rebuilt a home, cared for orphans, and so much more.
Yet out of all the things I've experienced this year the last 24 hours have some of my favourite moments.
Final debrief was a great time going on adventures and hanging out with my squad. Yet throughout a lot of the week I was a roller coaster of emotions. The future unknowns were starting to get to me. Wondering if I was making the right decisions, if the things I've learned this year would truly stick.
On the train ride to Bucharest I was given a word from one of my squad mates. That God had a release in my future. I wanted it desperately and was blown away once again how God uses people to speak to us.
After the train ride we went to our final hostel of the race. Where I spent most of the night just hanging out with friends. At one point the receptionist came in to get more blankets. They were stored in a closet behind some lockers so I assisted her in moving the lockers.
We slid the lockers out of the way and pulled the panel away covering the closet. I looked up at the wall and there was written in the middle of Romania.
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11.
I almost fell over.
I stood there leaning against the wall amazed at what I saw.
In that moment all those concerns, doubts and fears seemed so small. So inconsequential when serving a God who can write a message on a wall, in my own language, halfway around the world.
It was like He was telling me "Everything's going to be ok, I got this."
And this was just the beginning.
