If you have not read part 1 I recommend going back and reading that first.
The rest of the day was meant for us to go make a memory as a newly formed team and to come up with a new team name.  We went to lunch at a local Italian place (yes there is Italian food in Thailand).  While there we started brainstorming new team names.  None of the ideas were all that great.
That conversation was put on hold and we decided to go have some fun together.  Wall climbing was posed as a option and a change began in me.  I’ve mentioned in my blogs before that I love climbing but no one on this new team knew that.  The fact that it was brought up and everyone was for it was amazing to me.  Like God was saying I’m still looking out for you.
We went climbing together and had a ton of fun!  Challenging each other to climb higher and I got to teach them how to belay(keep the climber from falling if you don’t know).  My heart was changing towards this new team.  I climbed till my arms hurt and couldn’t hold on anymore.  Maybe things could work out with this team, if I just give it time.
Heading back for the night session our team name was still needing to be decided upon.  So as we sat down for dinner we started tossing more ideas around.  (I don’t actually remember how this conversation went but it was something like this.)
“It should be connected with what we did today.”
“There should be some meaning to it, not simply trying to get away with the most ridiculous name possible.”
“Well we went climbing, so how about Summit?  Like we are reaching for new heights.”
“Kinda cool but what meaning is there behind it?”
“What about psalm 121
“I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.””
So there it is “Summit 121” the origin of a name.
A name that holds meaning for me beyond what I even considered then.
A name that carries hope.
Hope that this team will someday be like family to me.
Hope in the one God who provides me with help and watches over my coming and going.
Summit 121 for me means hope in things unseen, not only for me but for everyone we meet!
What’s in a Name?
