If you haven't read Part 1 yet go read that first!
Moments later he returned and told us Dang's house is just around the corner and they want us to join their bible study the next day at 7.
The following night comes and we make our way to Dang's house unsure of what awaits us there. Walking inside we are greeted by Dang and his wife along with two other members of the bible study.
A young Thai man who works with YWAM at a local church who speaks great English is running the study. He tells us that this is the first meeting of this small group and we worship with them. Them singing in Thai and us in English as all the songs they played were songs I knew in English just redone with Thai lyrics instead! It was so cool to sing along side them.

The Thai man to the left of Brad(holding guitar) is Dang
After we worshiped for about half an hour we started into a Thai/English bible study on psalm 127 and jumped all over the bible to bring home the point that God needs to be our foundation or the work done in meaningless.
Even though most of it was said in Thai the few sentences he gave us to fill us in and the passages we read were so uplifting for me. If you've read my last blog(Plea from Self-destruction) you know that I've been struggling with being the leader for the guys this MANistry month.
It was laid out in front of me that God was wanting to be the foundation we as men need to build on and my efforts to make things happen were not what was needed. I was laboring in vain for my own weak foundation when God was wanting to be the engineer and show me how.

The man on my left led the study
I got so caught up in trying to make the schedule run smoothly and make things happen I became a tour guide with no direction and not a servant listening to the lords leading.
As we wrapped up the bible study we decided as a team of men to pray over them. The host wife was in a sling and we prayed over her first. The first time she was relieved of some pain but by the time we finished praying the third time she wasn't wearing her sling anymore!
Another man came forward asking for prayer for back pain we prayed over him as well!
When we finished praying for him four others asked for prayer. Two men and two women. The one man had knee pain and the other had heart trouble. Causing his heart to feel tight and restricting, I'm not a medical professional but it sounded serious to me.

I'm the blond one in the foreground the man on my left is the one with heart troubles
I decided to pray over to two men, so I lay a hand on each of their shoulders and prayed for the man with heart troubles first. That God would intervene in his life and bring healing to his heart not only physically but spiritually and emotionally as well. That his life would be a testimony to the community about God's goodness. For the Holy Spirit to fill him up and enable him to do mighty things amongst the Thai people!
As I prayed he began to cry.
I just kept praying knowing that God was doing something in this man I just met!
When we finished praying over these four we asked our translator if anything was wrong with the man I prayed for. He responded that he was happy.
He was shedding tears of joy!
We covered him in prayer once more that God's peace would cover him, this time the Thai people joined us in prayer for their brother! It was amazing.
I had no idea what to expect coming into this night but God showed up and it has now become one of my favorite nights on the Race(the number of exclamation points in this blog should reveal that)!
It all began with a just being out where people could find us and the boldness of Dang to invite us along. None of which I could have designed or scheduled even if I wanted to.
God presented the opportunity and we followed him. Are you in a place that God can use you even when your least expecting it?
Also here is a picture of me plowing rice fields in Thailand!
