This week we’ve been working in a
village in Kampong Speu province and we’ve been living at the
ministry house where we’re working. It’s really a nice set-up, and
despite no electricity it’s better conditions than we were in last
time. But that’s not what this is about.
My teammate Brittany had a birthday a
couple days ago and we had worship by candlelight that night. I’ve
been having a rough time lately and my prayers have been seeming dry.
I did my best to enter worship but I wasn’t all there. God has been
teaching me a lot this past year about generational sins and that
night God revealed to me another one that I need to break. Because I
realized it that night and spent a long time with God afterward,
surrendering and just talking about a lot of things, I think that I
was more prepared for our ministry the next morning:

been our routine this week and then we went downstairs to the kindergarten class to lead songs, crafts, and games. One of the songs
we sang was “Jesus Loves Me”. I know it’s just a simple
children’s song about knowing that Jesus loves me because the Bible
says so, but God used that song to refresh and refill me. I was
filled with a sense of joy that I haven’t had in a while and I just
knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that Jesus really does love me and
He’s taking care of me no matter what.
things that God uses to remind us of His never-changing love.
