So this is it! My life is about to dramatically change, I am so excited to live fully for Christ, to fall on my knees and surrender to His plan.
Hi there, my name is Bree Williston and I am 22 years old. I grew up in Southern California my whole life, specifically Huntington Beach and have loved every minute of it. I am currently finishing my bachelor’s degree in psychology at California State University Long Beach. I come from a family of five children, myself being right smack dab in the middle. I have an older and younger brother and also an older and younger sister. I love them all very much and consider them some of my best friends. I grew up with very loving and supportive parents as well; I really could not have been more blessed.
Growing up my mom always took us kids to church, I was raised to follow Christ but it took my dad a while to find his way. We would attend church without him for years until something suddenly struck his heart and he had a longing to know Christ. He began attending church with us on a regular basis and began to delve deeper into the bible. Now, he is one of the strongest Christian men I know and has been the strongest and most influential male figure in my life. My mom is a rock, I come to her with anything and everything, she is honestly my best friend and I strive to follow the examples she sets.
Sports are my thing, my passion, I love playing and participating in ALL types of sports. In high school and college I played volleyball, basketball, softball, tennis, and I rowed. Some of my hobbies now include paddle boarding, snowboarding, surfing, and playing any pick-up games I can get my hands on. I also love music, my family is really into karaoke (it’s actually quite comical!!), even though I am not a very good singer and I really enjoy playing the guitar.
I currently have two jobs right now, one as the patient liaison at Amen Clinics and one as a server at the Long Beach Yacht Club. Since my schedule is so busy I go to Rock Harbor church on Sundays and I am part of Rooted at Mariners during the week.
I love Jesus with all of my heart and I feel a greater calling to get out of my comfort zone and pursue His work. I am finally accepting the call and allowing Jesus to use me as a human vessel to spread His love and grace to the people of His world.
“then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” –Matthew 16:24
I am so excited for this opportunity and cannot even imagine doing anything different next year, establishing a greater intimacy with Jesus and my faith is something I so long for!
