I am not the best dancer out there. In fact I am well below average in the dancing department, but when one of your squad has jumped off the stage in the middle of a song to dance with the locals, the following thought goes through your head: “There’s no shame in lookin’ like a fool!”, you proceed to jump off the stage and start the most epic dance battle that has ever graced the floors of La Benediction, instantly attaining V.I.P. status and be written down into local legend.

Ok, most of that is exaggeration. But the epic dance battle did take place. And I looked like a fool. And it was a great time.

But, all joking aside, it truly is amazing what happens when different cultures and languages collide in a beautiful display of worship to the Father making a joyful noise before Him.

There is such a joy in this city despite the brokenness that is here.

“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.”
