To the Mystery Starbucks Girl
I walked through the door and ordered my usual coffee. I sat in front of you, our eyes met, I smiled at you. You wrote, “Thank you for hope” on a napkin, alongside a pressed wildflower. You left. These are the only interactions we had. I will carry them with me forever.
I don’t know you and I don’t know if I will ever see you again, so let me thank you. As I sat in front of you, opened my bible, and began to read, I had no idea that you would find hope. I saw that you were reading your bible; I saw you were crying, but then I looked up and saw Hope in your eyes.
I saw Jesus wiping your tears away
I saw Jesus telling you he loves you
I saw Jesus healing you
I saw Jesus telling you that he would never leave you.
I saw myself in your eyes
I saw Jesus wiping my tears away
I heard Jesus say he loves me
I saw Jesus healing me
Jesus was right in front of me
So thank you
Thank you for hope
