Hello friends!

After a couple hour bus ride from the airport, I made it safely to Antigua, Guatemala on Monday the 8th. In this past week we spent most of our time getting to know the ministries and exploring the town.

Antigua is probably one of the most beautiful cities I have ever seen. The entire town is composed of a grid system of historic looking buildings and cobblestone streets. Antigua lies in a valley surrounded by tall hills and mountains as well as an active volcano that frequently puffs off smoke. Weatherwise, it could not be better — during the day it is in the mid 70s with medium humidity.

Everybody here is incredibly friendly and loving and I felt at home immediately. Our ministry host Luis set our squad up in a house about 10 minutes away from Antigua with bunk beds and a nice porch and lawn. After the first couple days getting acquianted with the town, my team helped teach English and sex Ed at a couple of schools. Sex Ed was much easier than I thought, mostly because my team was able to share testimonies about our past experiences and decisions in our dating lives. Luckily, we didn’t have to get into the more physical aspects of the topic…

Another great ministry moment was when we went to a market and struck up a conversation with a store owner about Jesus. My teammate melanie, who speaks Spanish, was able to get to know his spiritual background and see where he was with the Lord. Some of us got to share our testimionies and pray for him too. Pray that God would touch his heart and draw him to Himself!

pray for greater boldness and for my team to be continually strengthened in the Lord. Thanks for reading!

Peace out,

Brandon
