Greetings!
First of all, thanks for taking the time to check me out on the “About me” page. My friends in school suggested that I tell you all that my nickname is “Klev-Dog” but you can just call me Brandon.
I’m a senior in high school and I’m 18 years old. I’m from Prescott, Arizona — known for its R&R (Retirement and Rehab)! Its a peaceful town with lots of outdoor stuff to do. When I’m not at school or doing homework, I spend my time playing tennis, taking pictures, or just doing fun stuff with friends and family. I have an older brother, Jacob, who is my biggest role model and currently goes to Biola University. My mom is a pharmacist and my dad owns a small quality control business for online textbooks. I want to thank my family for giving me the support for this crazy adventure!
I grew up in Sierra Vista, Arizona and I moved to Prescott when I was 7. Starting in about 5th grade I began a downhill spiral with video game addiction that effected every area of my life. I frequently struggled with loneliness and shame from it and it gave me a bad attitude pretty much all the time. However, when I went to my youth group’s summer camp after 8th grade I experienced the love of God for the first time! My life changed and its been much better since, despite the storms and struggles I’ve faced afterwards. Last summer I had the opportunity to take a 2 week trip to Zambia which gave me the first taste of missions.
I think God has given me a heart to be a friend to people. I love to meet new people and simply live life with them. I honestly don’t really know my spiritual gifts yet (maybe teaching or encouraging?) but I’m hoping find that out on the World Race! I don’t know what do study in college either so I’m also hoping to discover my true passion on this trip. What I’m most excited about is that I’m hoping to break free from baggage and simply know Jesus more and more. You can read about how I felt called to the Race on my first blog!
Pray that God would reveal himself and his will for me, and that God would teach me to not be afraid!
Heres’ A couple of fun facts:
I can solve a Rubik’s Cube
I have a female cat named Bane and a dog named Amber
My favorite word is “Banzai!”
My biggest fear is having to spend the night locked in a dark basement alone
I wear dove men’s deodorant 🙂
Thanks so much for taking the time to read about me! If you’re a fellow racer, I AM SO STOKED TO GET TO KNOW YOU!!!!
