I don’t think I could have ever imagined living in a hostel. At times there was up to 60 people staying here in a house not much Larger then the one I grew up in… And to think that I had trouble with only seven people. Plus there is a kitten that kind of sorta lives here. Tis is a fearless kitten, and well we seem to have named him Kevin Costner, look, I have no idea how that happened but I love it! This was just launch week, we had no ministry, just learning more about ourselves and our teams. But back to the name when you put that many people in a not so big place you are bound to have problems and usually big problems at that. I mean come on, we’ve all seen “The Real World” there is not an episode that goes by without a big blow out fight. How can anyone expect anything less? Can I just say how wrong my assumptions are… I have not heard one single “fight” not even a small argument. How can this be?!? With people from all of the US and Canada how can there not be one single screaming match? Let me let you in on a little World Race secret, it’s called feedback. It’s this amazing tool in which we sit down with our team and in a structured way we discuss any problems and or good things that went down that day. My first thought was that this is complete crap… Look I’m honest, if you’re looking for a happy everything is good and I agree with everything blog go somewhere else. To me, this whole feedback system was complete crap. Yet for sssssoooommmeeee reason I gave it a chance. And guess what! Again I was wrong, you know what? I’m starting to enjoy being wrong with this stuff, it’s humbling and it shows me my room for improvement. I guess I just wasn’t really looking at this feedback system as a Christ centered tool. I was looking at it with a secular lens. So I guess we aren’t hostel in the hostel.
