Walking into a completely dark basement not knowing where the light switch is all I can do is fumble around and hope that by blind luck i can find the light switch.  After a little bit of wondering around I reach to my pocket to pull out my phone, a light that is usually dim and typically makes no difference now illuminates almost the whole room.  When I was first accepted to the World Race the thoughts that over powered my mind seemed to be negative.  As weird as this sounds, it makes sense.  I’ve always been hard on myself, so of course all kinds of what ifs are floating around in my head.  Today my Pastor spoke about a friend of his, also a pastor, who moved to Fortworth Texas to plant a church. My Pastor remarked to his friend of many years, “how many streets can you find in Fortworth that don’t already have a church on it?  Why not plant a church where it is needed, where there aren’t many churches?”  That small intro story to his sermon wasn’t really meant to be the crowd mover of the sermon, but I’ve been thinking about it all day.  This friend of his might not have been the most motivating speaker, he might not have had all of the doctrine memorized.  However if he plants his church in a place that has a complete and utter need for a church, a place that is mostly in the dark, his small light could have shined so bright.  Just like the back light of my phone in the dark basement.  After thinking about this all day I know, I KNOW, that no matter what comes my way as long as i rely on God and allow him to come through me I will be a bright light that can, that WILL allow people to find their way.

2 Kings 6:15-17 15 When the servant of the man of God got up early the next morning and went outside, there were troops, horses, and chariots everywhere. “Oh, sir, what will we do now? the young man cried to Elisha. 16 “Don’t be afraid! Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs! 17 Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes and let him see! The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.

Today, God opened my eyes to see his army at my back ready to support me when I need it. Ready to help me illuminate the darkest corners of the earthÂ
