So for this particular blog I want to share with you about what happened to me last week. Last week I had what we like to call a "Screens Fast." The whole team took a week unplugged. No computers, no Ipods, no Kindles, and even no books (except our Bibles and journals of course). We took a whole week dedicated to intimacy with God and each other. Needless to say, it was difficult. When you live your entire life connected to the Matrix, it's difficult to let it go if you catch my drift. Personally, I was excited and ready but others were not as enthusiastic. Here is why I am talking about this. Something happened last week that our team desperately needed. A connection. For the first time in a long time we were able to connect to each other without the distractions of electronics. We got down to the core of people's character and identity. We presented each other with proper encouragment and life-giving feedback. We even played a much needed game of Phase 10. BTW, if you want to know how to entertain me, get together a game of Phase 10, I loooooove Phase 10. Anyhoo, It was a great week and coming out of it, the Fire Disciples that we are have seemed more joyous and excited just to be around one another. It has been a good way to close off the month and our time in Africa.
