If everyone reads this and wonders, "What's with this guy?" I am trying to navigate my way through this blog and I think this is the about me section so that's what you are gonna get.
Anyhoo, this is me…My name is Brandon Barnum (like the circus). My birthday is on July 1, 1988 creating a lack of school birthday awesomeness but that's ok. I was born and mostly raised in Las Vegas, Nevada where I live in Caesar's Palace and deal blackjack. I'm joking about those last bits, but seriously I get that question all the time. I am the oldest of 3 brothers and a sister, have divorced parents who love each other more now than when they were married (which is an awesome blessing and just super cool), and one of the cookiest families ever!
Just a few weeks ago on December 17 I graduated with my bachelors degree YA! 4 and 1/2 years is enough for me for now but it was an awesome experience that I will always appreciate. So now I have a B.A. in Bible/Pastoral Ministry with a Youth Ministry Minor from Manhattan Christian College in Manhattan, Kansas. So really it's a "We'll see what happens" degree. The race will certainly add some clarity to this predicament.
But for now, I live here in Manhattan, Kansas in a house with 12 dudes. Lots of laughs, fights, fun, Jesus, and cheap rent for sure! I drive a school bus by day and save citizens as a superhero by night…and preach on the side most weekends!
I am soooooo excited for The World Race. I am going to dedicate a whole blog article to why this is the case so I will just leave it at that for now. But, in the meantime, here are three random facts about me to possibly keep you all interested in reading my blog…
1. I am a walking, talking IMDB.com. What is that supposed to mean, you ask? It means that I am a film nut. I am the guy who goes online just to study about movies and actors, filmmakers, and musicians. If you need to know something about a movie, I can answer it for you but though I am still a "young padawan" so to speak, I do not know everything but will find it for you!
2. I love to get out of my comfort zone. Though it is not always easy to take a step out in faith (if it were then it would not be a comfort zone) I appreciate the need for stretching myself for the sake of becoming a better person and believer in Christ. So I am willing to try new things!
3. My blogs will be off the wall because I am that kind of person. Just sayin'. So be prepared for awesome tangents and super detailed irrelevance.
You all rock and I thank God for all of you!
Brandon Barnum
