Month
8 of the race and NOW I feel like I am actually on the race.

Before
coming on the race I had this mindset that most of the months I would be
tenting, with no running water, no internet access, and be
preaching/evangelizing daily.

Granted,
some people have had months like this, even on my squad, but I however have not.

I’ve
had a bed for five months and I’ve only tented for two months.

I’ve
had running water every month, yet some months the water supply is turned off
for days at a time.

I’ve
had internet at my fingertips for six of the months.

I’ve
preached four times (which has really been sharing my testimony), and done evangelism
daily for three months.

Not the typical blog you have read,
right? Well, my month is like those blogs you’ve read about being in a remote
village in the middle of nowhere. Hello World Race.

This
month in Kampot, Cambodia, I officially feel like I am a World Racer.

I
use a squatty daily (this is my first time on the race using a squatty).

My
water supply comes from a lake next to the house I live in.

My
water supply also serves as the bathing pool for the geese, pigs, chickens, and
other animals we have.

I
live in a room with 8 other ladies, in a house that hosts up to 30 people.

Food
here is super cheap, iced coffees (in a bag) are about $0.38.

I am
teaching English in a remote village to people that know nothing about Jesus.

We
have the ability to go out in the morning and share Jesus with the village
people by building relationships, spending time with their children, and
praying for them.

I
spend time with children after class chasing them around, singing songs, and
playing games.

There
are half-naked children running around everywhere.

I
get super dirty every single day and feel like I actually need to shower.

I
live in a country where there is almost no American food anywhere in sight,
which is a complete culture shock from last month living in a big city where
American food was everywhere.

I
can snatch a little bit of internet action from our ministry contact’s phone,
but other than that, there’ll be no tweeting/facebooking my play-by-plays this
month.

My heart is racing ever so strongly
after Him.

This
month is a month of obedience, confidence, and assurance.

Obeying
the very things He speaks over me and tells me to do daily.

Walking
out in the confidence of what He is giving me for other people.

Assurance
that the future He has prepared for me will be good no matter what it holds.

Blogs
this month will be few and far between, but the Lord is speaking.

I am
writing blogs as my month progresses and I will post them when the timing is
right.

As
the Spirit leads, I will post them.

Trust and know that He is doing a good
work in me in the unknowns.

As for praying goes…

Pray for provision for my teammate Elizabeth that still needs funding (see blog here for more info: http://brandiwilcox.theworldrace.org/?filename=urgent-time-is-running-out). She still needs about $3,500. Pray
for growth as our team matures together as a unit.

Pray
for Him to give us patience with our children in the classroom.

Pray
for the ability for us to share our faith with the village community.

Pray
for Him to guide me and direct me in the future He has for me after the race.

UPDATE as of 2/16/13: My
team has about 8 days left here at our ministry location before we head to Siem
Riep, Cambodia for our 8 month debrief. Next stop we will be headed to Uganda
in March. Waka Waka ehhh ehhh it’s about time for Africa!

Sorry for the sketchy photos and sketchy formatting, this internet is not good. haha
