I cannot recall to you the amount of times this month I’ve
had people look me in the eyes and say, “You are fat, not beautiful.”

Not only this month, but it
has happened the last five months of the race.

It has happened my entire
life.

In kindergarten, I found myself
comparing the size of my thighs with my classmates.

In high school, I was
embarrassed whenever my mom would publicly announce my pants size in a store.

On The World Race, I have realized that I am beautiful.

All over the world people claim that big is not beautiful.

I am here to defy what
society says
and say that you, sitting
there reading this blog,
you are beautiful.

Whether you are a size 4 or a size 24, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.

I’m not just saying this to
say it, but I truly believe it.

I am beautiful just the way
that I am.

Raw. Real. Uncut. Uneditted. Beautiful.

So what if you don’t look
like the girls in magazines.

So what if others judge you
for who you are.

So what if your clothes don’t
match.

So what if you don’t fit in.

Where is your worth?

Is it in these things the world tells you, or is it in
the everlasting promises of God.

Here’s what His Word says about you (click italicized
scripture to read in context).

The Lord knit you in your
mother’s womb. Psalm 139:13

He knows the very hairs on
your head. Luke 12:6-8 (even when hairs fall out
daily, He knows)

He knows everything about
you Psalm 139:23

He loves you and He chose
you. 1 Thessalonians 1:4

You are the apple of His
eye. Psalm 17:8

You are His treasured
possession. Deuteronomy 7:6

He looks at you and says, “You
are beautiful.”

His face smiles upon you.

Even in your imperfections, He thinks you are beautiful.

No matter your size, He
thinks you are beautiful.

He makes all things new.

When you were born into this
world, you were bought at a price;

A price that cost the life
of Jesus.

That’s a huge sacrifice.

What are you going to do in your life to give back for
that sacrifice?

Are you going to listen to
what the world says to you?

Or are you going to listen
to the man that created you?

Our identity is not found in
man.

Our identity is found in the One who created us.

Whether you know the Lord or
not, He calls you beautiful.

Whether you know the Lord or
not, He loves you just the way that you
are
.

Whether you know the Lord or
not, He has a big plan for your life.

I don’t know about you, but
I’ll be the first to admit I have judged others by their appearance.

Whether it be something that
they are wearing or if it is the way they look.

There is freedom in
admitting that to you.

No longer will I look at
another person with judgment or comparison, but now I will look at them through
the eyes of my Father.

He calls all things, big or small, short or tall, normal
or weird, with or without a beard…He calls them beautiful!!

Remember, you are beautiful.

You were bought at a price.

Never forget where your
worth comes from.

I’d encourage you to examine
scripture to see more of what the Lord says about you.

Psalm 139 is a good place to
start.
