For
the month of December I am living in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
It
is in the northern region of Thailand.
We
live right across the street of Chiang Mai University (CMU).
We
live above a coffee shop called Wongen Kafe’.
Wongen
is a part of a Youth With A Mission (YWAM) organization.
YWAM
is a worldwide organization that aims at spreading the gospel.
I
am here with 8 other beautiful ladies.
We
are in the midst of “womanistry month,” better known as #princessmonth.
The
ladies of our squad are split up into three groups, while all the men on our
squad are doing life together.
We
will only be together for a month, but we know that we are each together for a
reason this month.
We
have a new team name called, “Team
Victoriously Smiling Pandas.”
Victoriously because we are living in victory from
the Lord.
Smiling because we are in Thailand greater
known as the “Land of Smiles.”
Pandas because we are in Thailand and pandas
are everywhere.
Here
we are…
We
live above the coffee shop in three different rooms.
We
have two western toilets.
We
have two showers that are warm/cold.
We
are working at the coffee shop four times a week for four hour shifts.
We
have a student from CMU that we are practicing English with.
We
are giving the coffee shop a lot of business by eating our meals here,
including their yummy cheesecake!
We
will be eating lunch at the university a few times a week to meet people.
We
will be able to go into the bars where ladies are being sex trafficked,
dependent on our schedule.
We
spend time together as a team in our common area.
We
have a night market right down the street that has super cheap food and clothes.
Of course none of the clothes fit most of us because they are made for super
tiny Thai people.
We
have a 7/11 right down the street to get little treats like a slurpee or ramen
noodles.
So
far, I have met three girls from the university that I have been instantly
attracted to.
I’m
going to be pouring life into them this month and just loving on them.
Two
of them know the Lord and I’m encouraged by them.
The
Lord is doing a lot in my life this month.
I
absolutely love Thailand and the people here.
I’m
learning to love the food.
I
love the ministry here and I have an awesome relationship with our ministry
contact.
I’m
excited to see what He does this month in me.
On another note, my papaw passed away
yesterday, 12/7/12.
Two months and four days after his wife
of almost 60 years passed away.
I have peace knowing he accepted the
Lord just a month before leaving this earth.
He’s in Heaven with Jesus and living
life in a restored body with my grandma.
My family is wrecked by this news.
Please keep them in your prayers.
