My Route is Being Re-Routed
I have been welcomed to The World Race launch in
DC with the knowledge that our entire route has changed. Now, there will be no
more of me rattling off the countries in 20 seconds in order…Bulgaria, Romania,
Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Nicaragua, Honduras, and
Guatemala. Now, I have a general idea of where we are going, but no idea what
order. Honduras will be month one, then we will hopefully go to Guatemala and
Nicaragua. Essentially we will be in
Central America first, and then off to Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, and
lastly East Africa. The World Race logistics people desire to have all of
the same countries for us on our route; it will just be in a completely
different order.
Why this
change??
You know how the Olympics are going on right now in London; well we are not able to
get all 54 of the people on our squad to Europe. Flights and space on the
flights is really limited right now. As well as the cost is higher than our
budget allows. The logistics team here in the states has decided at the last
minute to change over the entire route and go to Europe once the Olympics craziness
settles down.
Honestly, this is all in God’s good and perfect
plan right now, and we need to take hold of it. There is a reason for this
change outside of the financial aspect. God has us in Central America first
with a purpose. He has things planned for us right there right now.
One of the things that most of us are either
really excited about, or really not looking forward to is that ALL of G-squad will be together in Honduras.
This is NOT a World Race norm, but neither is changing your whole route two
days before launch. Needless to say, we are a special squad and God is already
stretching us in BIG ways.
With all of us being together, we are not 100%
sure what that will look like, but we do know that we will be living together
and working at a different ministry location with our teams. I’ll be sure to
update each of you on what our specific ministry will look like, once I get
there and get some wifi.
