Here are some responses to the phrase “You Know You’re a World Racer When…”

(this is version 2.0, to check out version 1.0 click here)

You make mental notes of what you should sell before you leave for your 11 months.

You get more notifications from your squad’s group page than you do from your personal Facebook page.

Every time you go to the store you shop for gear, just to see what they have.

You have 5 different excel sheets just for support raising and fundraisers.

You meet with pastors and church leaders you have never met before to talk about the race and what God is doing.

95% of your conversations begin with: “one of my squadmates said…”

You have two countdowns, days until training camp and days until the month you launch.

You’re in the midst of a fundraiser every second of every day!

You go to the thrift store to shop for any item that is your squads color—GO GREEN!! #gsquad

People ask you what job you are going to get after you graduate and you say you’re not.

You respond to the question “So when do you leave?” at least 10 times a day.

You start to feel like people want to get rid of you for those 11 months.

Instead of wishing every 11:11, you pray to a God that hears you. #11n11

People ask you what you are doing after The World Race and you tell them only God knows what you will do, not to mention you being okay with that.

You change your clothes when they change color.

“You pull a Brandi and don’t shower for like the rest of your life!” Malarie Parenteau (Yes, that really is a direct quote from her.)

You sleep in a tent in your room, just for fun.

People ask you what happens if you don’t raise all of your support, and you kindly reassure them that God has already provided.

People ask you to babysit for the weekend for their anniversary in a few months and you respond with ” Ahhh no sorry I can’t I’ll be in Bulgaria!”

When you can’t make plans for future holidays, baby showers, weddings, etc. because you will not be present in America.

Special thanks to my G-squad family for helping me come up with some of these.
