We all know that most of America is about competition,
about being the first person to do something, about playing a part in the
winning game, etc. Many of us can see these as challenges to be the very best
that we can be.
Here’s my question that
I want to challenge those of you reading this with…
What are you doing to build God’s Kingdom with your
finances?
Take a second to reflect on where your paycheck goes…
Is it on the basic essentials for life?
Is it on a daily
trip to get coffee?
Is it on weekly
dinner outings?
Is it on meaningless,
earthly items? (Read Ecclesiastes (my favorite book of the Bible) for
more meaningless stuff, err, or all of it.)
I am in no way
condemning your spending habits, but I want to encourage you to use them for
God’s Kingdom.
What if you gave up that daily trip to get the $3 coffee?
You would have $1,095
more each year.
What if you gave up that weekly trip for that $10 dinner?
You would have $520 more
each year.
What if you took some of that money to support a cause?
What if you were able to give wholeheartedly to
missions?
What if you enabled people to share Christ all
over the World?
What if you gave up your finances for His
glory?
There are so many “What if’s” that I could come up with,
but the most important one is…
What if we gave up every single part
of ourselves for Christ?
“I
have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved
me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20
Ladies and Gents, we have all been crucified with Christ.
We are not living, but Christ is living within us.
We are called to greater things.
We are called to make Him known here on Earth.
We are called to grow the Kingdom of God.
Maybe you are sitting at your desk reading this and
thinking, “I’m not called to missions
like you are called to missions Brandi.“
Well, if you are a follower of Jesus
Christ, you are called to missions.
The Great Commission in Matthew 28 18-20 states that we as followers of Christ are called to share Him among the Nations.
Not just one, but all.
Let us go out in the power of the Gospel and share Christ among the Nations.
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” ~Jesus speaking on The Great Commission
If you feel led to give up some of your finances to support
a certain missionary who will be traveling around the world to 11 countries in
11 months, and if her name is Brandi Lynn Wilcox, please click this link to
support her. 🙂
Lord, let us be a generation that puts our finances in Your
Hands.
Lord, let us be your Hands & Feet wherever we are.
Lord, lead us by Your Will every single day.
