How do we really get to heaven?

Does everyone here on this earth just get a free
ticket to Heaven?

I mean, let’s think about it…

What about that person that never accepted Jesus as
their Lord and Savior?

What about that person that has never repented of
their sins?
What about that person that never publicly confessed that they believe in
Jesus?

These thoughts have been running through my head
since one of my best friends died in a single vehicle car wreck in November.

These thoughts have been running through my mind
because I know that she knew who Jesus is, but I don’t know if she ever
accepted Him.

Is she in
Heaven right now?

Is she
living with Jesus even though she never publicly accepted Him?

OR…

Is she in
Hell?

Is she living
in a place where there is just an absence of everything about God?

The truth is…I don’t know.

The truth is…nobody on earth knows.

The truth is…only God knows.

When I think about my friends church background I
know she was a part of the stereotypical “C&E” crowd (“Christmas &
Easter”). These people typically go to church only on Christmas or Easter and
no other time during the year.

Who am I
to know that she never accepted Jesus at some point in her life?

Well, I don’t know if she ever made that commitment.
I do know that I was possibly the only person in her life that shared Jesus
with her. I do know that if she were to accept Jesus she probably would have
come running to me to tell me.

When I
was at her funeral I was sitting there fighting back all that was in me to just
stand up and proclaim the way to get to Heaven. In John 14:6 Jesus said, “I am
the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through
me.”

If we live a life according to the word of God, then
why do we let these things slip by?

Why is it
okay to just say she is in Heaven, when we really don’t know?

Every time I go to her facebook page I get frustrated,
I get angry.

Most of the posts say things like, Heaven’s a better
place with your laugh, or keep watching out for me from up there.

I continue to question every single person’s faith
that posts on her page saying that.

Do we merely get to Heaven by being a “good person?”

Do we merely get to Heaven by never doing bad
things?

Do we merely get to Heaven by being nice?

In John 3:3 Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, no
one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.”

Jesus said it.

He said the only way to Heaven is if we are born
again.

He said the only way to Heaven is through Him.

It hurts to believe this.

It hurts to acknowledge that we will never see some
people again.

It hurts to know that someone so close to you never
accepted Jesus into their heart even when you tried sharing Him with them.

It hurts to know that there is now nothing we can do
to save them.

It hurts to know that they are destined for Hell.

I write this blog to encourage you to be more
intentional.

Who are you sharing Jesus with today?
How many of your close friends/family members don’t know Christ?

What’s holding you back from sharing what you
believe?

We need to be a society that tells the world that
Jesus lives.

We don’t want to regret not sharing Jesus with
someone who has never accepted Him.

We don’t want to let an opportunity to share our
faith pass us by.

We are not
guaranteed tomorrow, so let’s share Jesus today.
