I have been getting a lot of questions about The World Race
from people, and now I’m going to answer the most asked ones!
When do you leave for
The World Race?
I will depart the US in July of 2012. The exact date I will
find out at training camp in May.
When is training camp?
May 19, 2012 – May 26
What will you do at
training camp?
I will meet my squad mates and my teammates and be prepped
for ministry on the field. We will have team building exercises and get to know
each other better as a family.
Define squad mates vs.
teammates.
Okay, so I am leaving with July 2012 Route 2, a group of
70+ people from across the US & Canada who I will travel across the world
with. This group of 70+ people composes my squad. My squad and I will be going
to the same countries every month. These 70+ people will be broken down into
teams of 5-7 people which will make up our teams. These 5-7 people are the ones
that I will be doing ministry with in each country.
What does Route 2
mean?
Route 2 depicts the different routes that are leaving in
July. There are three different squads leaving the USA in July Routes 1, 2, and
3. Also, you may see me reference my squad as G-squad. Let me explain this as
well… The very first squad to launch with The World Race was called “A squad”
and since then every squad has been named the next letter in line of the
alphabet. My squad is actually G-squad 2nd generation because WR has
already gone through the alphabet once.
What kind of ministry
will you do?
You name it, I’ll more than likely do it. Street
evangelism, orphan care, community cleanup, building churches, helping sex
trafficking victims, preaching, and anything else God may call us to.
Where are you going?
I’ll be going to Bulgaria, Romania, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya,
Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Guatemala.
How long will you be
in each country?
The duration of the stay in each country will be dependent
on travel time as well as debriefing. It can be anywhere from 3-4 weeks.
Where will you live?
I could live in anything from a hostel (similar to a
hotel), with a host family, in my tent, or whatever else may be available.
Can you explain what
ministry will be like?
Well, ministry will more than likely be different every
single day. In general, we will be going to the countries and working with
missions’ organizations or churches that are already placed in the countries.
We will be working to help them with whatever their needs are throughout the
month.
What will you do after
The World Race?
I haven’t got a clue. My reasons for going on The World
Race are to see if I am called to a certain people group and type of ministry.
While on the field, I’m hoping to be able to discern what God has called me to
post-race. Theoretically, I will not have a home, a car, or anything when I get
back from the race. Truth is, I know God is going to provide for me in crazy
miraculous ways, He always does!!
When do you have to
have all of your support raised?
I need to have all $15,500 in my account by January 1,
2013. My goal is to have most if not all of my support raised (including
commitments) by the time I depart in July.
Where does all of the
$15,500 go to?
For more information about the breakdown of where the money
goes, click here for a detailed
description in one of my previous blogs.
How will others be
able to contact you while you are overseas?
The only method of contact I will have is the internet,
when available. I will have my blog which is the main source of communication, click here to subscribe for email updates. These updates will let you know
every time I post a new blog. Comments on blogs are much appreciated, just
saying. 🙂 I will be able to skype, facebook, tweet, and other social media
means. I will not be able to receive any mail while on the race.
