You know when you are on the World Race when… (Swazi Style)


  1.  You lick your spoon to clean it before passing on to the next person

  2. You eat more chocolate in one day than you have in your entire life

  3. When washing your feet leaves a ring around the tub

  4. Getting new clothes means borrowing from your neighbor

  5. When taking a shower (shower is a relative term i.e. bucket bath) every 5 days is a luxury

  6. A way of entertainment is betting on exactly what time the ride will arrive (winner gets a drink of their choice)
  7. You can identify what cars are driving past by the sound of their tires

  8. When you are excited that you don’t have to fill a bucket to flush the toilet

  9. When you know what “one cheek up” means

  10. When you are down to a group of six people and you feel like you have alone time

  11. You can’t tell the difference between sandal tan or dirty feet

  12. You’d rather live in a tent than share a house with 80 people

  13. When you use dental floss & an eye mask to wrap presents

  14. Your travel plans include hitchhiking a ride to the border and figuring out the rest from there

  15. When having only 9 people in the back of a small truck is comfortable

  16. When you can sleep through roosters crowing in the middle of the night

  17. You don’t even notice the hay in your food

  18. You dress up to go to the grocery store and it’s the highlight of your week

  19. Getting Tick Bite Fever is like getting the common cold

  20. You live with another team long enough to come up with a joint name: Salt + Lego = Saltego

And finally, you know you’re on the World Race w
hen you make top 20 lists to entertain yourself!
 




These are the things we have learned in the last 2 months of the race.
