Sleeping on the floor surrounded by strangers was a lack of sleep evening for me. My back hurts and I'm already tired. lol. I'm sitting in a living room with 15 people that I was supposed to be spending 2013 with around the world and back. Awkwardly enough, I switched to a different squad at the last minute because they needed volunteers to be spontaneous and help their head count.
So now I am watching them prepare all of their team colors and flags and meshing together as a strong team. Luckily I do well in awkward situations so I am making the best of it. I will be meeting my new squad and team later today when I arrive at training camp.
I had a really good quiet time this morning though. I finished the book of Nehemiah and learned about his faithfulness and especially his commitment to prayer. Prayer always came first before any decision or if anything happened.
Then I went on to read Psalm 126:5-6- "Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them."
Wow! That is so powerful. Definitely my new verse for the trip.
