Matthew
28:19
Therefore go and make disciples
of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit,
I believe with all my heart that the Bible is infallible and
has no flaw. I believe that it is living
and to be discerned by the Holy Spirit.
I think that it comes alive and changes us from the inside out. So when Jesus says go, I think He means we
should go. So I am going with the
expectation that Jesus would not ask me to do something that He does not want
me to do. So I am going with the expectation
that Jesus has a plan for me in this trip.
I know His plans and they are to prosper me and not to harm me, plans of
good and not evil. Therefore, with great
excitement I plan to traverse the world.
Acts
1:8
But you will receive power when
the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem,
and in all Judea and Samaria,
and to the ends of the earth.”
In His final exhortation to us Jesus informed us that we
will be His witnesses. He said we should
start at home and wherever we go from there we should be a light. I think that works in a practical daily life
as well as a missionary life. If I wake up I need to start my day at home with
Jesus, then take Him to work or school, then wherever else life takes me. This is true in a geographic sense as
well. Jesus has called each of us to get
our hands dirty working in the harvest, that could be saving souls, and it
could be ministering to believers.
Regardless of our calling, different as they may be…. We need to be
walking worthy of our calling as Paul commanded us in Ephesians 4:1. I also am expecting God’s promise to be
true. If you read carefully God promises
that we will receive power! I do not
think God is weak nor do I take Him as a sissy.
I believe God’s power is powerful!
Our God raises the dead, heals the sick, and mends the broken
hearts. By all means I think spiritual peace
with God is His main goal. However, I think
God likes to heal people. I think God
likes raising people from the dead. To
be honest, I think God wants to use us for such things. I have stood in faith and asked God to heal
cancer… It was not in God’s will to heal that time. I keep my head high though and my faith
strong because God did not leave me nor forsake me. He brought salvation and then carried a woman
of many sorrows home to be with Him. It
is hard, but I have to stand firm and believe His ways are higher than
mine. I believe God wants to use us in
these countries to ask His Kingdom to come and His Will to be done on Earth as
in Heaven.
Isaiah
53:5
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
to a hurting and broken world. I believe
that God will destroy us on this mission trip.
By that I mean destroy our flesh and make us understand the way of the
Spirit.
