“We can make our our plans but The Lord gives us the right answer.” Proverbs 16:1 NLT
At the beginning of this month I wrote a blog titled, I got your back. Now GO!
This is is the truth when God tells us to do something for Him and we obey his command, The Lord has our back no matter what happens to us.
I have been praying and wanting to get back into international missions because I am a missionary for Jesus. That’s what I am supposed to do to honor and please Him. This is all that matters in life to me.
Last year on The World Race I thought my favorite months were going to be preaching months in Africa to be honest but The Lord flipped me upside down on His airplane. The months that we’re my favorite and touched my heart the most were Thailand, Cambodia, and Nepal. Two of the three countries I was taking care and playing with children and youth. The children had no father figure in their lives and this made me sad and angry because I knew what this was like to have no father around for a period of time. We need to step it up as men and be there for the children and the woman in our lives. When and if I get married someday (that’s up to God, not me) divorce is not an option no matter how tough he times are because I will love her just like Christ does for his children.
I was looking into taking a short-term week long mission trip this summer and to be honest the USA ones were good but I wasn’t drawn to them so much. I spent some time in prayer and kept looking at the mission trips. For some reason my mind was always on Thailand and Nepal.
The Lord kept on drawing me to Guatemala. I didn’t know why but The Lord works in mysterious ways. I kept on seeing and reading about children and how they need people to be a good Christ like model to the children.
Then, I said to The Lord with a flight $1,400 for a week that’s ridiculous, I don’t think I’m going. I will use the week off for a USA mission trip or a vacation instead. This is the same person who The Lord provided with $15,500 to go on The World Race just last year and saw God work in great ways. Just because people perceive someone as a “strong Christian” doesn’t mean we don’t deal with doubt or fear. More often then not the voice of doubt is louder to us but we to God and His voice is stronger than our fear. We just choose to have faith like a little child and go do what He has called us to do for His purpose.
A couple days after I said this to God, out of the blue an email come to me about CGA mission base in Guatemala. I’m like wow Lord really! Crazy! So I talked to The Lord about this opportunity and I decided God is the pilot not me. I’m going for you alone Lord!
“Commit your actions to The Lord, and your plans will succeed.” Proverbs 16:3 NLT.
In September, I am headed to Antigua, Guatemala!!
I am headed down to Adventures In Missions down to the Center for Global Action which is known as CGA! On the World Race, The Lord has affirmed me as a missionary and He has given me a voice to be influence to those in my local community and in the world. It’s pretty awesome!
So, the Sermon Shorts everyone has been seeing for the last three months has been for a kingdom purpose!!
CGA is Adventure in Missions discipleship training school where they will give you the training you need to step into the calling God has put over your life. This is part apprenticeship where I will be able to partner with local ministries and give me the tools I need to step into what God has called me into for the rest of my life!!
Part of this is living in community just as Christ did with the disciples. The World Race is living in community all the time and trust me I need this to continue in my Spiritual growth in The Lord.
Part of this is discipleship. We need to be discipled by others who will challenge you and want you to step out in the world for Jesus!!
Here’s what I will be doing in Guatemala starting in September:
The Compassion Track is designed to minister to orphans and bring them to a place of wholeness and freedom and launch them out to disciple the nations. This track is run out of our missions base in Antigua, Guatemala . We first build a relationship with the orphans, serve them and love them. Then, as the Lord speaks and they respond, we disciple them into their identity in Christ. The vision that the Lord has given us is to then launch them out as missionaries to the nations.
There will also be courses in identity, calling, culture and Biblical studies. Guatemala is especially good if you’re thinking about getting into long term missions. It’d be better preparation than anything else we do! (From Seth Barnes Jr.)
I will be in Guatemala for the first four months after this I may be at another international AIM base at CGA, still in Guatemala, or in Gainesville, Georgia for the story track. At this point God is the pilot, not me.
I would love prayer support for this calling God has placed in my life. Thank you so much! I can’t do this without God and your support. I appreciated this so much!!
To be open, honest, and real everything takes money to run even missions.
I will be in CGA for two semesters. Eight months total.
Cost is: $6,950
What will this cost provide?
Cost of an apprenticeship with the CGA will vary according to track location and will cover program costs, housing, and a monthly stipend for food and personal expenses. Prices may vary depending on location and airfare to overseas bases are NOT included in these prices.
I would like to pray to come along side with Lord and partner with me. I will gladly answer any questions you have for me!! Please don’t be shy if you have them send them my way.
If you like to hear the whole story about this I like to have coffee with you or meet up and I will gladly talk about this ministry with you. It’s awesome!
The good news is the $811 over I was blessed with for The World Race is already towards the CGA. Thank you!
By September, I need a total of $1,925 in the support account to start CGA.
