When I saw Honduras on my World Race route let's just say I wasn't excited about going there because I didn't know anything about Honduras. God had some things to teach me this month and show me to never write anything off again before knowing His plans for me. We had a long travel day to Honduras and took me three days to be settled at our ministry site right above Erandique in the mountains of Honduras. I remember introducing myself at church and telling my two-minute speech about me and I said to the crowd "I am sorry for being sick this morning "I had diarrhea" but this means God is going to do big things this month! My friends and family would understand what I meant by this phrase but the pastor translated this totally different.
We arrive at our ministry site and I learn we are going to door to door evangelism, teach English to the community and every time we are at church one of us would have to give a testimony or a sermon on the spot. I was fine with the sermons on the spot. I was okay with the teaching English to the people because this would allow me to work on my Spanish but doing house visits I was scared of BIG time! In America, house visits are rarely acceptable for evangelism or praying for people.
In Honduras this is welcomed! The people are so inviting and many times they will give you there last cookie packs, juice, and coffee. So generous with what little they have which blew my mind! Then we would pray for people many of which had physical problems and needed healing on the spot. At first I was scared and barely able to touch them and totally believe in the prayer for healing. I was trying to depend on my own words instead of from the Holy Spirit. The more houses I went to this month and the more we prayed for healing I finally stared to listen to The Lord for the words to say and we started to see miracles happen.
One house I went to had a mother with four children with her brother. The father ran out years ago and all of the children were less than six. They lived in a shack with one room made from a tin roof, wood, and mud. This was the most poverty I have seen on the race so far. The brother had a dislocated shoulder where he couldn't move his arm because his arm was sliced. Our group started praying over him for a few minutes. After we prayed his arm moved a little bit but not full mobility so we prayed again. After the second time praying for him his arm moved about 70 percent but not all the way. The next day we heard from Pastor Alejandro his arm was completely HEALED!! WOW! Thank you Jesus! We saw many healings and answered prayers this month! God was teaching me don't ever write anything off and don't limit God's power!
