Let me tell you about Binky

She is beautiful. She works at a coffee shop. She’s new to the city. She’s precious. She has a story.

I met Binky during our first week here. I knew the moment I met her that I would be introducing her to Jesus. I knew we met for a reason. I would go in to visit her as often as I could just to see how she was doing, order a coffee and just simply love her. What I didn’t know was that my teammate Beth had met her and also befriended her. She was also forming a friendship with her. I love how God works.

Last week Beth and I were ordering a coffee and talking with Binky. Beth looked over at me and said, we should take her to dinner. I said, okay, sweet. We exchanged email addresses with Binky, and arranged to meet with her in a few days. Beth and I were so excited to meet with her and we asked for God to just use us to bring her love and truth.

Beth and I prayed about our time with her and that she would receive Jesus into her heart. Last night we met up and took her to Indian food dinner. We spent time getting to know her and told her that we had a gift to share with her. Her eyes got real big, and she was like, “what?” I began to share my testimony of how I began a relationship with Jesus. She was the most precious thing listening intently and understanding more than I could ever have imagined.

Beth and I lovingly told her about the love of the Father and that he sent Jesus for us to know him. She asked, “he loves me even though I haven’t loved him?” Yes, we told her. It’s crazy but its true. He sent us to you because he wants to have a relationship with you. “Really, me?” Yes, you Binky! “So he really sent you to me?” Yes, we did and we are freaking excited.

We shared scripture with her and asked if she wanted Jesus to come in her heart to forgive her of her sins. She said, yes and we prayed for her and with her to receive Christ. It was the sweetest moment to see her understand so quickly and innocently. It was as if we were telling a small child, she came to Jesus with child-like faith. Beth asked her if she liked listening to music and she said “yes, when I go to use the internet, I listen to music on the computer.” We told her we had music to give her and she asked if we could sing some songs right at dinner. We both sang two of our favorites right there at the restaurant and that was emotional moment for sure!   Basically Beth and I were basket cases.

She was so excited and told us that she felt different. “It’s because you are, we told her!!”

We headed over to meet some of the other girls and she told them about her night. She was full of joy and smiled the biggest smile! I’m in awe of how God loves us soooo much and allows us to be a part of what he’s doing daily. I’m in awe of how hungry people here are for Jesus. The harvest is plentiful! We love you Binky, and so does Jesus!!!
