Without fail, the Lord always gives me someone to love on and I gladly receive it.
Last week, we were coming back from the beach on our day off, and a woman from the shop came up to me as I walked past her.
“Excuse me, are you from America?”
“Yeah, I am.”
“Oh well, I’ve been there and you should come into my shop.”
We start talking and she tells me she goes to temple, church and mosque. I tell her that I believe in Jesus and that I’m here because I’m working with an organization.
I tell her what we’re doing in the bars and how we’re reaching out to the girls. We talk about how long she’s been in Phuket and that she has Christian friends and neighbors. I tell her the truth of the Bible and that she came up to me, because God was drawing her to himself. I shared with her that Jesus is the only way to the Father. She said some of her friends pray with her. I ask if I can pray for her and she said, “yes, of course.”
I went into her shop with Bethany and Cori and we talked more about Jesus and heard some of her story. She listened and shared some literature from Jehovah’s Witness. We told her that’s not the same as us, and that we don’t believe what they do. We told her more about the difference between believing in Jesus and other religions. She told us she was from Nepal where there is Hare Chrishna. She told us how she gave money to the temple and that if she does good to people, she will receive good. We did our best explaining the grace of God as a free gift and that we don’t have to work for his love. She was very open to the truth and asked for us to pray for her.

I prayed that Jesus would encounter her and that she would see His love for her. I prayed that her heart would be open to understanding the truth of the Gospel. I prayed that she would see her need for Jesus. We thanked her for having us in her shop and told her we’d like to stop by again. She said, “sure, and you can come when my brother is here, oh and bring your friends.”
I stopped in the following day, and was just there Wednesday a couple of times. I had the chance to pray for her again and share more of God’s love with her. She was more than happy to share more about her life and hear more from me. I love Sunnita from Nepal and plan on going into see her everyday that I’m in town. She’s four months pregnant, and has a 3 year old named Maria. She works hard at the suit shop with her brother and I believe God is at work in her in a huge way!!!
Keep praying for Sunnita as I go and visit her during my off time here in Phuket. She has really touched my life with her precious Spirit, and I know she’s seeking perfect peace and grace that she doesn’t have to work for.
