We have been at our campsite for about a week now and its time to relocate. Our two teams are being mixed up, one is going an hour away to develop new contacts. The team I’m on is going to stay at a local church and continue the work here we’ve started. Its really going to be interesting to see God move us and how we’re going to be challenged and grow in character. We are on a really tight budget and God has blessed us with a free place to stay for a week at the church. We also have the gift of an amazing cook who is the pastors wife. We basically will have everything provided….freakin DUDE! The hope is that we can develop more contacts for future race squads to come and to identify the need in the area. One of the pastors has offered to take us to a local orphanage, a nursing home and possibly a prison. I’m really looking forward to the changes to come even though I have loved getting to know the college girls and spending time sharing our stories together.
(Bethany and Marta)
Marta is a beautiful young girl from Poland that is so eager to spend time with us and hear our stories. Its so encouraging to know that people want to hear about how God has changed our lives, and I’m all over it! She’s shared so much about her life, the town we’re in and is so proud of her country Poland. She keeps telling us we need to visit!
(Marta, Pili, Bethany and Maria)
Maria has been so cool.
She came to church with us on Sunday and even though it was in Hungarian, she enjoyed our time together and she’s such a delight to be with. The first time we hung out, the girls made us a bomb pasta dinner and we had such amazing conversation.
Even though we are all from different parts of the country, Jesus broke through the cultural barriers and we connected so well.
(Pili-seriously the funniest girl from Spain that I know)
We had a movie night with them last night, went sightseeing today and look forward to coffee chats this week. I’m just so thankful for them being so open to us crazy Americans and building awesome relationships. God has opened so many doors here and I know its just the beginning for us. I have learned so much this month about being content. We have so little materially and are letting go of comforts each day, but we are so rich in love and God continues to provide daily all of our needs. I am thankful everyday for being able to see the world through God’s lens and love with HIS HEART! Please keep praying for us as we pioneer this month and trust God to continue to provide for us, so we can keep loving HIS PEOPLE!!!
