A name identifies someone. In Bible times a person’s name stood for the person–and represented him
and his characteristics. Some of us have
been named after someone, given a name because of its meaning or symbolism, or
given a name because of its uniqueness. The reasons behind our names are
endless. One thing is certain we all have a name.
As I walked
through the streets of San Marcos I asked the Father, “Lead us, we will
follow”. Then I felt Him leading.
“Stop”, He led me to stop in front of a small house. I wasn’t really sure what
to do. He said stop, so I did. Obedience
sometimes doesn’t have to make sense…it’s more about trusting Father.
Pastor Antonio felt the same thing. He saw sickness upon
that home. We entered and there lay a tiny baby boy almost swallowed by the
immense size of the bed and blankets. His tiny body was swaddled in a blanket
and jacket. All I could see was his minute baby face and movements of his
gentle breathing.
He was sick. His mother did not know what to do. He would
sleep all day and at night cry endlessly. She would try everything to calm him
but all failed. The young mother sat by
the bed looking at her baby with no answers.
But we had the answer. We led her to the answer, Abba
Father. Pastor Antonio prayed with her.
That day she made the best choice of her life. She choose to begin a new life
in Christ. We then prayed for her young baby. I was led to speak to his spirit
by name. When I asked for his name I was told he had no name.
At that moment I believe I was embracing not just any baby.
I held in my arms a baby who was going to grow up to be one like Elijah. He will
step forward in the midst of darkness and lead many to the one and only true
God. I shared this with my team and Pastor Antonio. He translated what I felt
to the mother. We then prayed over the
baby by his name.
I am excited to introduce to you Elias Natanael. Yes, I
named a baby today!
Our Daddy knows each of us by name. He says, “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
When you pass through the
waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you
will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I
am the LORD your God, the Holy
One of Israel, your Savior”. He knows your name and loves you beyond measure just as you are.
