She lay almost lifeless, in agony. Even to utter words
brought pain to her. Eyes of pure sadness silently screamed for help. She was
too weak for tears. Yet tears were the unspoken words of her loved ones in the
room.
Softly we began singing to the Lover of Lydia’s soul. Abba
Father understood and felt her pain. Some sang while others prayed; everything
was heard by our Father. This was Lydia’s life for more than nine months. Too long.
We continued to sing. At times it was too difficult for
myself; tears welled up and a knot formed in my throat. Father was faithful to
strengthen me to continue singing and praying. Our worship reached His presence
as a sweet fragrance this day.
I was led to massage her feet. They had walked through much
in life and needed rest. As I prayed I felt she would soon be face to face with
our Father. These are not easy words to share with her family. I remained
silent yet inside I wanted to tell Lydia, “Pain will be of the past. Soon you
will see our loving Father”.
After praying for her family we silently walked down the
alley. All needed to process what we had just experienced. In the midst of
suffering we were able to change the environment.
A week before coming on field we were told, “Wherever you
go, you affect.” Today we saw this. See, we have been given the power to use
our voice. Our words have power to change wherever we go. We are thermostats
not thermometers. We set the climate. Our environment doesn’t set our
attitudes, emotions, or state of heart. We bring change through the love of the
Father and set the atmosphere to a positive one. It’s His liquid love.
Great amount of pain was in the room when we walked in. But
one thing was present that wasn’t present before. His peace that surpasses all
understanding hovered upon the room and set itself in the hearts all that were
present.
Before the day was over Lydia’s eyes beheld the wondrous
beauty of Father as He wiped away every tear from her eyes. No longer was she
in sorrow or crying or in pain. For the former things have passed away. (Revelation 21: 4) Death is no more for Lydia
as her feet walk the streets of gold.
Today we ushered her into His presence for eternity. What a
privilege and honor! Lydia began living eternity. I dare say she dances freely in
a new body before God as she worships Him unending. She truly lives forever with our
Father.
